October 2021 Honoree
Catherine Klein 2, RNC, MNN
Catherine was so supportive after the birth of my baby. I was worried about the vaginal tear I just suffered and she made sure to assess it thoroughly and gave me instructions about how to care for it and who to follow up with. Catherine also spent a lot of time going over how to take care of my baby when I got home. I had a lot of questions and she was very patient and answered all of them. She made sure to discuss my mental health with both me and, more importantly, my husband. She made me feel so much more confident about taking care of myself and my baby. She gave me lots of resources, too. As Catherine wheeled me out, she continued to give me advice and encouragement. She even called up to the unit to get an answer to another one of my questions. She made me feel so cared about and I even told her that she reminded me of my mom! I cried when I hugged her goodbye because she made such a difference in my hospital experience and in my life! (Side note: I am a nurse myself so I know Catherine truly went above and beyond, and deserves to be recognized!)
Note: This is Catherine's 2nd DAISY Award!
