Cathy had admitted a patient today in the POB. She, like every day, spoke to the patient and family and made them comfortable by being personable during the intake.
As a nurse in the PACU, I am honored to be able to work with nurses like Cathy. Cathy has one of the biggest hearts, and it shows when her patients come to recovery. I have never experienced a nurse who leaves such an impact on her patients.

Cathy had admitted a patient today in the POB. She, like every day, spoke to the patient and family and made them comfortable by being personable during the intake. They spoke about dreams and plans to travel to different places in the future, and when the patient was ready to get discharged, the family member requested to speak with Cathy. Cathy made time, as always, to come and see the patient and family. The family member wanted to show Cathy pictures of a trip to Africa he took because he had found the pictures while waiting for his loved one in surgery.

As another nurse perceiving this situation, she gave most likely a nervous husband something to keep his mind busy while his loved one was in surgery. On this same day, Cathy was saying goodbye to her coworkers as she always does, and from down the hall, a patient yells, "Goodbye, Cathy, thank you so much." This is an everyday occurrence working with Cathy. Her patients remember her, want to say goodbye, and are always thankful for her care.
