During the height of COVID-19 earlier this year, this DAISY Nurse was nothing but a professional when assigned to care for COVID+ or PUI pregnant patients. There were many learning curves and procedural hurdles she had to navigate and seemed to continually do so in a dignified, compassionate, intelligent manner. She took necessary precautions and cared for these patients without complaint or negativity. We applaud her dedication to her patients as well as her reserved, calm, yet strong demeanor and deem it worthy of recognition and celebration. Although not a seasoned nurse by time standards, Mary Catherine Maddox is naturally an ideal fit for our profession and has represented it well in this pandemic.
