Catherine is one of the best nurses I have ever encountered, and I have been a nurse myself for 14 years! Catherine is so attentive, and she truly loves her job. Her passion shines through every single time. She has the best personality and always has a smile on her face.
I was in for my second surgery in two days and had her both times in PACU, and she made the entire stay so much better. She has a huge heart and treats you like family. You can tell she loves her job, and she has a passion for it. She has so much joy, and it's contagious. It made me feel better being around her and provided so much comfort.
When I got to PACU, she noticed I was shaking and got me a ton of warm blankets and then gave me Demerol to help with the shakes, which it did immediately. She brought me a dinner menu and stayed late both days to make sure I was taken care of because both times were close to shift change.
It's been a long time since I've seen a nurse as compassionate and joyful as her. UTSW is extremely lucky to have Catherine.
