As a result of Nurse Ramsey’s dedication, this particular veteran’s life has been changed for the better.
Nurse Ramsey’s work has been very valuable in reaching out to our veterans for assistance. A specific case even made her efforts more noticeable. One of our veterans sat down with Nurse Ramsey admitting he was about to be homeless as he had lost his job. Nurse Ramsey immediately went into action and reached out to our Compensated Work Therapy (CWT) team and referred the veteran for evaluation. The veteran was offered a job and accepted the job to work under the CWT.
Nurse Ramsey also took the time to refer the veteran to the housing program and was provided safe housing under the VA agency. She also went out of her way to assist this veteran to ensure he had appropriate transportation so he will be able to meet his obligation with the CWT program. Several weeks later the veteran met with Nurse Ramsey and expressed his appreciation for all that she provided him and informed her that he was in line to be hired permanently and have stable employment. As a result of Nurse Ramsey’s dedication, this particular veteran’s life has been changed for the better.
