Yesterday I witnessed Catherine Warren go above and beyond for a patient we had!! This patient was altered, most likely homeless, and had an extreme lice/bed bug infestation. She took the initiative to shave this patient's head and beard, wash his whole body, and apply lice Tx. Then we took the patient to the decontamination room to completely rinse him off and transfer him to a new clean bed. After this process, the patient was able to wake up eat lunch and answer a few more questions. Cathy showed me what it truly means to be an ER nurse and make a difference to help this patient when he was in a horrific situation!!
