Cathy Herrin shines above the rest when it comes to teaching and mentoring, and her knowledge and experience make her an awesome nurse. Her work energy is contagious. Others rise to a higher level because of her example, and she encourages growth in everyone who works alongside her. She has the innate ability to explain things accurately and completely. She cares about each patient as if they are her dearest friend. Her expertise crosses all boundaries within our department, enabling her to confidently and comfortably step in where needed. In general, if Cathy can’t fix it, she’ll find a way to make sure that it gets done, and done right. I am honored to nominate Cathy for the DAISY Award … she is truly the epitome of a DAISY Nurse in my eyes!
