I've had many medical procedures throughout my life. Never have I had a nurse who made me feel what I experienced with Cathy in recovery. She was by far the most caring and loving nurse I have ever had. She took such excellent care of me. She made me feel safe, she made me feel comfortable, she helped me through moments of extreme pain and discomfort and also celebrated the good/successful moments of my recovery with me. She didn't just provide meds; she held my hand, she explained helpful breathing techniques and went out of her way to get me and keep me comfortable. She took extra time to explain and re-explain every detail, large and small of what was happening to me. She took extra time to sit down with my husband and make a medicine chart of when and what I would need my next dose before sending us home. She was extremely attentive. I didn't have to ask for anything because she anticipated my needs. She truly cared about me as a patient as if I were her own family. She did all of this with a very positive demeanor and smiled through the entire recovery. I believe she is not only an amazing nurse but an amazing human being. I've never been so grateful for a nurse as I was through this experience. I hope she knows how much she meant to me- I will never forget her.
