Cathy was caring for an elderly gentleman who was in the process of dying. He had family that visited, but not consistently. When they decided to withdraw life support, Cathy asked for someone to come be with the patient. It broke her heart when none of his family came that day. She provided a gentle cleansing bath, brushed his hair and held his hand while life support was removed.

When he did not immediately pass, she pulled up a chair, held his hand, and sang to him so he would not die alone. Cathy, you are an awesome nurse and I am so very proud to work with you!
