As a co-worker of Cathy, I see on a daily basis her clinical skill and expertise. However, when I brought my ill child to the Emergency Department as a patient, I came to understand her unparalleled compassion as a provider. After Cathy changed my daughter into scrubs, placed an IV, joked with her and made her feel much better, my daughter said, "I didn't know how much fun this could be." Cathy is the kind of nurse that all of our patients deserve and she is the kind of person that I hope to be someday.
