Cathy Ruff, RN

Cathy Ruff is an expert in her field, and I don’t know what we will do when she eventually decides to retire. She is the go-to wound expert in the hospital and is always available to answer questions about what dressing to use on a wound or what tips and tricks we can use for a difficult wound vac. When Cathy has an interesting wound or wound vac change, she will pull in new staff members or nursing students to teach them what she is doing and why she chose that dressing. She was even kind enough to locate some information for a nursing student that was doing a project for school. She genuinely cares about the patients and makes sure they are on the proper bed, have a cushion, or a dietitian consult before she moves to the next patient.
