When I met Cathy, my first question was, "Am I going to die tonight?" Cathy assured me that I was in good hands and that she would be watching me, to prevent and do all possible before I would need to have that kind of mentality. She had a way of calming my "high anxiety" self with assurance, confidence, and assertiveness. Cathy did some reading on my diagnosis and printed materials so that I could be informed and assured of any questions going forward. She would let me know that she could not control the "worries" in my head and that would have to start with me. She helped me to get comfortable at night, allowing my body rest, yet letting me know each day to be cautious of what and how we are managing pain. I knew that a certain drug was quicker, faster acting than another, yet was able to get off of it and on to a better pain management regimen. Cathy is patient, firm, knowledgable, dedicated, determined, caring, kind and extremely efficient. She pushes you in a subtle way to become your best. I know she is going to continue to do great things. The last words she told me upon discharge, "I am confident that you are going to be okay."
Thank you for helping me with my insecurities during that pivotal moment of my life. By being who you are and providing me with the knowledge and peace, you allowed me to rest and relax the best way you could with your undivided attention.
