This isn't part of the job; this is her being the fantastic nurse and human being that she is every single day.
Over the years I have known Cathy, "Cat" Springfield, I have been impressed with her commitment to safe, effective, patient care and support of all Home Therapy Programs and patients. Cat is the Nurse who shows up when and where she is needed. She has been a Home Therapy Manager for several years.

Over the course of these years, I have seen her drop everything because a patient needs to be trained to dialyze at home, and there are no nurses available to train the patient. Just last month, she showed up at a clinic I happened to be working in that same day because she received a phone call from that clinic's Home Nurses, who said they had a patient who needed to start HHD training and that neither of the Home Nurses had completed their HHD training yet. She dropped everything and came to ensure the patient received the training they needed.

Like most nurses, Cat has a lot of things going on both at work and at home. No matter what, though, she always makes the time to ensure that she prioritizes both patients and her Home Nurses. This isn't part of the job; this is her being the fantastic nurse and human being that she is every single day. She exemplifies nursing excellence and patient-centered care, and she always cares for her fellow Nurses. She lives the Core Values of USRC, and she fits the description of a DAISY Nurse.
