Nurse Cathy literally saved my son C’s life. He had had a bedside procedure done where an incision was made so some infected blood and drainage could be expressed. Approximately three hours after that procedure, C was still bleeding profusely. C called the nurse to see if the dressing could be changed because he thought the bleeding had stopped. Cathy discovered the error and applied pressure to the incision . . . . . for 2 hours. His blood pressure nearly bottomed out (77/41) while we waited for the doctor to see him. He would have been in much worse shape if she hadn’t given him the time and attention she did. I cannot begin to thank her enough. She is the embodiment of an angel here on earth. Her time, her attention to detail, her humility and grace, her expertise, and her awesome sense of humor are cherished by my family and me, and we will never forget her.
