Cathy Winchester, RN

Today Cathy went above and beyond. She was taking care of a patient that was a DNR and upon the patient declining Cathy found out that the patient's daughter was a patient at our hospital getting ready to go into the OR for a hip fracture. After many phone calls to the preop RN and the MD Cathy was able to coordinate bringing the patient to her mom's room prior to going to surgery. The patient passed within 10 minutes of her daughter being at her bedside. This shows excellent patient care and should remind us all of the reasons that we are nurses.
