Catie Conolly, RN

When I arrived in this unit, I was very scared, broken, and beaten down emotionally and physically. Life was weighing me down and I just needed someone to listen to me and the intense sadness and pain I've endured. Someone to listen without judgment or conditions, and Catie said if I needed to talk, she would be here to listen and that she would make time for me. I'm not sure I took her offer seriously due to my past, but I remember taking a deep breath approaching Catie, and asking her if we could talk. For the first time in a long time, I was heard. She took as much time as I needed to truly listen. Not once did I feel judged and I felt like someone was listening to me, I felt like I mattered. Catie was always there for whatever I needed and having been through so much in life, her taking the time to listen to me made me feel cared for and seen.
