I am a single mother who came unto the unit in active labor, I was six (6) centimeters dilated. All the nursing team was helpful and acted fast when caring for me by responding to the decelerating fetal heart rate of my baby secondary to tachysystole. The OB Triage team acted fast to ensure my wellbeing and that of my baby. However, Catreese stood out. She included my mother and my brother who accompanied me to the hospital and with my consent, they were kept informed of my plan of care. Catreese went above and beyond for me during the admission and delivery process - she ran into the delivery room at least five times to actively support the nurses who were caring for me. Catreese also understands there are non-traditional families and that families can be structured in many different forms. In my case, my mother and brother are my main support systems. Catreese acknowledged that by including them in my care. She ran all night, back and forth, supporting interventions of the attending physicians and other nurses. Catreese made sure my life and the life of my baby were in good hands, she is an attention to detail person, she acts fast, prioritizes well, and is an active and involved leader and team player.
