June 2026 Honoree
Catrina Parsons, RN
I gave birth to our beautiful baby girl a week ago, and most days since then we have thought about Catrina and the difference she made in our birth experience.
From the moment she walked into our room, she changed the tone of my labor. I felt immediately seen by her. She validated my pain and helped me navigate a really scary period of time. She explained everything that was happening and empowered me to make decisions that were right for me and my baby.
She also prepared me for something that could happen as delivery got closer. So when there were suddenly eight nurses in the room helping to flip me over so baby’s heartbeat would stabilize, I felt terrified, but prepared because Catrina shared that it may happen.
She has a way of adding light and levity to the most intense experience in a woman’s life. She is self assured, highly experienced, and the saving grace of my birth story every time I tell it.
