The CAUTI-CLABSI Squad received two nominations. They have been nominated for their dedication and commitment to decreasing CAUTI and CLABSI rates for close to a decade. Besides piloting and implementing best practices, they serve as educators, resources, and auditors when it comes to urinary catheter and central line care. But their outcomes speak volumes for the hard work they do. Several inpatient units have reached 500 to 1K days without a CLABSI. Some have reached over 500 days with a CAUTI. Most recently, the ICU reached over 1K without a CAUTI - that's over three years! Ascension National teams (hospital teams at the system level) are turning to this squad for guidance on best practices to utilize throughout their hospital system.
