Cawn Supena, BSN, RN
I want to nominate Nurse Cawn for the DAISY Award because his care was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I met him, he went above and beyond to make sure I felt cared for, respected, and understood. Even on days when he wasn’t assigned as my nurse, Cawn still took the time to stop by my room to check on me and see how I was doing. That simple gesture meant so much; it showed that his patient assignments didn’t limit his compassion and dedication. He truly cared about my well-being as a person, not just as a patient on his list. What really stood out to me, though, was what happened after I was discharged. I had some questions and concerns once I got home, so I called the nurse hotline. To my surprise and comfort, it was Cawn who answered. He immediately recognized me, took the time to listen carefully, and walked me through everything I needed to know with patience and reassurance.
Even after I left the hospital, he continued to provide the same thoughtful and professional care he had shown during my stay. Nurse Cawn’s kindness, professionalism, and genuine concern made a lasting impact on my recovery and my overall hospital experience. He is the perfect example of what nursing should be: compassionate, dedicated, and deeply human. I am incredibly grateful for the way he cared for me and the comfort he brought during a difficult time. Thank you, Cawn, for being an exceptional nurse and a true example of the DAISY Award spirit.
