Cecile was nominated for her attentive care to a patient who was deeply saddened by the loss of her daughter to drug abuse. After several days of care, the patient finally began to share her story with Cecile. Early on in life, the woman had chosen a career in opera singing over staying with her family. She believed that her previous actions were related to her daughter's decisions.
Cecile was able to take the time to be with her for multiple times throughout the shift to pray with her and assure her that she could forgive herself. Cecile helped the patient reach a break- through moment in learning to forgive herself and heal from her situation.
She certainly needed an angel at her bedside and Cecile is a great example of what an exemplary patient experience role model should be!
