For the past several weeks, I have been visited regularly by Ms. Cecilia N'Jie of Fidelity Home Care services, following treatment for the effects of pleural effusion in my chest. Having little hospital experience until recently in my long life (I am 91!) I did not find the suggestion of help offered very appealing at first, after conversations with two other post-hospitalization personnel, I changed my mind and agreed that Ms. N'Jie might make visits for several weeks. I am writing to express my appreciation for my experience with Ms. N'Jie. To begin with, she accepted graciously the apology I offered for my initial rejection of her services. Further, the instruction and encouragement she offered were done in a positive interpersonal manner. Her mature and yet personal manner in dealing with me and with my occasional failure to follow suggestions consistently made her visits occasions of learning, as well as pleasant events.
I commend Ms. N'Jie unreservedly for her warm, professional and competent care of me in what was a new experience of health care that I was previously unfamiliar with.
