Today I was cared for by the amazing nurses in Cedar Ward. I have autism, ADHD and complex hospital trauma. I was treated incredibly - I was given a private room and allowed my carers with me. Nurses spoke calmly, peacefully, and with so much patience. They were incredibly thorough with my medical history and made me feel very safe. This is the first time I’ve had an operation where I didn't have a meltdown, a panic attack, I wasn't sick or distressed. I felt safe, happy and looked after well. The ward is quiet, clean and tidy. Every nurse, physio, doctor, and consultant has been incredible. Breaking my ankle was very traumatic for me, and this hospital experience has gone a long way to healing my mental and physical health. The whole team on Cedar Ward is a credit to the profession. Thank you, a thousand times, over, all of you.
