Celia Smith, RN
Celia Smith embodies and demonstrates the very best qualities of an exceptional employee.
Integrity – Celia took charge when I was here for an extended stay with acute cellulitis. When I said I preferred to keep my personal items close so I could readily use them, she staked out the far corner dresser and that was “my area”. I trusted her with my valuables and papers implicitly.
Commitment – Celia intuitively honored the VA’s mission through her attention to detail such as completing her tasks professionally, on time, and with a smile.
Advocacy – Celia’s focus on espousing the VA’s mission was demonstrated by her everyday actions. Finding me a cup of coffee at off hours. Quietly observing if I may have been asleep before rushing in to take my vitals.
Respect – Celia respected my request for unusual items. My rechargeable hearing aids ran out of battery since I didn’t bring my recharger. She took it upon herself to locate a “Comfort Audio” amplifier set for my temp use. It was a lifesaver.
Excellence – Celia exhibits the highest standard of TQC without knowing the term. Every task she completes is done with 110% efficiency in- spite of obstacles. She is a professional and a true credit to her team.
I always told my directors and managers ‘I can teach you anything, except enthusiasm.’ Celia exemplifies enthusiasm.
