As the sole preceptor for students at Travis AFB, Maj Raphemot effectively navigates the command limitations of providers while serving as site director. She successfully guides students to independent practice by the end of their residency, ensuring their readiness for clinical practice. Maj Raphemot regularly evaluates and assesses student clinical performance, ensuring students meet academic and clinical graduation requirements. She plays a pivotal role in mentoring and advising students through all phases of their DNP projects, including navigating the local IRB process. This year, despite additional challenges posed by new research staff at the command, she provided mentorship to both students and the IRB team, ensuring EBP projects remained on track. As the USAF PMHNP Consultant, Maj Raphemot provides strategic guidance to the PMHNP program regarding Air Force requirements, shaping the future direction of the specialty while serving as an indispensable resource for USAF students.

In addition, she works collaboratively with faculty peers, including Dr. Gebara, to ensure students receive thorough, constructive, and high-level scholarly mentorship. She creates an environment that enhances learning, mentorship, and leadership. Maj Raphemot’s strong moral compass and advocacy for patients, service members, and students are evident in every aspect of her work. As the Air Force consultant, Maj. Raphemot actively educates top military nursing leaders on the value of the GSN and its advanced practice nursing education. Her advocacy efforts contribute to the continued recognition and support for USAF students in APRN programs. Expanding Opportunities for Military Nurses, she ensures that military nursing education remains at the forefront of strategic discussions, highlighting the critical role of advanced practice nurses in operational and clinical settings. Provides leadership in the application of evidence-based teaching/learning practices to impact student learning outcomes. Excellence in scholarly mentorship, Maj Raphemot’s exceptional eye for detail and dedication to scholarly writing mentorship set a high standard for doctoral students.
