Chad Payne, RN
My dad has experienced many hospitalizations at Marian Regional Medical Center. What makes the experiences somewhat tolerable is the work and care of the nurses who care for him. Chad not only has great nursing skills, but he has also been a support system for me and my mother. It pains me to say not every experience has been this way, but the individual I am nominating has done enough to make up for those shortcomings.
Chad has been nothing short of exceptional during my father's stay. Words cannot describe how fortunate I am to have him in charge of my father's care. Chad is one of the most attentive nurses my father has had, not only at this hospital, but at others as well. There is never a moment when something is needed and not provided in a timely manner. He has been extremely friendly not only with the patient, but with the visitors and family as well. Every time my father was asked if he needed something, my family members were asked as well.
While serious about the care he provides, he makes sure to leave room to joke around and lighten the mood during darker times. Despite being in pain, my father has been able to tell stories and laugh with Chad, for whom we are deeply grateful. He is attentive, and I am proud to say he is the furthest from dismissive. He listens carefully to all of my father's concerns and immediately makes a game plan to triage his discomfort. Our experience has been enjoyable and never rushed. Despite other patients to attend to, he makes my father feel seen without making it seem like he has other things to do.
Chad possesses so many great traits that make him an amazing nurse. His patience is truly extraordinary as he takes all the time to answer medical questions that my mother and I have regarding my father's condition. He even goes above and beyond to provide updates as soon as we arrive because he anticipates we'll have questions. I could say a million more positive things about Chad P. and our experience with him, but there aren't enough words. All in all, Chad goes above and beyond the standard of care for his patients, and for that we are eternally grateful. He is most deserving of this award, and I hope you will give my father's story and experience with him your highest consideration.
