My aunt suffered a cardiac arrest and was transferred to SLUH. The following days were agonizing as we waited to learn the extent of any brain damage and determine the next steps. That night, Lily (Chaeeun) was our angel on earth. From the moment she took over, Lily answered every question, accommodated anything we asked for, and went above and beyond in every detail and task. My aunt was an extraordinary hospice nurse who gave herself selflessly to ensure her patients’ final days were peaceful and dignified. Day or night, she was there for them. All through the night, and into the following morning, Lily honored T’s years of service by providing the utmost care as we said our goodbyes. Lily was the light we needed that night. She embraced our large family with compassion, giving each of us private moments to say goodbye before allowing us to remain in the room to cherish my aunt’s final hours. She prayed with us, laughed with us, and offered the comfort we so desperately needed. Words cannot express our gratitude to Lily. Our entire family wants her to know how incredibly special she is to us and how deeply we appreciate her kindness and care.
