I don't even remember arriving at the Emergency Room but I do know that when my husband was called in to be with me that Nurse Chakita made him feel calm. She continued to keep him informed and reassured him I would be all right for the next three hours until I regained consciousness. He said she was constantly there and not only compassionate for me but for him.

When I came to she was the first person I saw and I could tell that I was in good hands. She was not only kind in her words but there was something about her that told me everything was all right. I thought that because I had a complication with medications taken while I had COVID. I had incredibly high anxiety, but she kept me calm the entire time. She told me she had been at that hospital for over 20 years and had never received a DAISY Award. Incredible! How could someone like Chakita not get an award in 20 years? I know about DAISY and I found I could do this through the DAISY site. So thankful that I can thank someone as wonderful as Chakita.
