You know how it feels when you go home and your mom is home? That cozy, safe, loved, well taken care of, no worries in the world because you know mom will take care of you 100% and she is your safe spot. That’s Chalene! I came into work and have a patient that has a history of CVA and seizures. Chalene loved on her and gave her amazing care. When we did our report at bedside the patient was smiling and glowing. She held up her hands and said “Look at my nails, Chalene did this!” She was so excited Chalene had put her own pack of nail/stickers on this patient who had been having seizures.

Chalene said that patient has had a rough life and deserved to be taken care of. She also before she left went and bought the patient some M&Ms and cookies. The patient was like a kid in the candy store. She absolutely adored Chalene. Chalene always acts like she is everybody’s momma, always offering food, advice, money, and most of all love and respect. She is an amazing nurse and provides all her patients with amazing care. Not all nurses just “push medications and do assessments,” nurses like Chalene take you under her wing and treat you like one of her kids or family member. BRMC is blessed to have Chalene.
