I have had many members of my family in a hospital. Most times the Nurse treated them like it was just a job, but Chanda Wood actually showed the compassion that my aunt and I needed. While in ICU with my Aunt I was there sometimes seven hours before leaving for a bit and coming back. I am 61 years old, and I have NEVER seen a nurse these days going 100 miles an hour constantly. She took time to come to talk with me honestly and with understanding and showed me understanding and compassion as far as the decisions that needed to be made. But the TRUE care she took of my aunt was just OUTSTANDING! Each time she came in she took the time to talk to my aunt even knowing at that time she could not understand, and she would also answer any questions I had. When another decision needed to be made, again she took the time to squat down so she could look me in the face because I was sitting and explain the pros and cons. She is one of the BEST nurses I have come across and if anyone at all in this area deserves this HONOR not just for what I saw and witnessed for my aunt but also for literally running to her other patient. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
