My wife and I spent 4 days in the Labor and Delivery Unit to have our son. This entire experience was truly an emotional roller coaster. After the 2nd day in the hospital with 0 results, we were broken emotionally and not sure what we could do in order to continue. She never left our side and continually brought us hope. She updated us very often throughout the day and suggested various methods of dealing with pain and situations. She brought up methods that she had found in her training from other areas of the world that definitely helped with getting through the pain. With something as emotional as a 4-day induction and then a C-section, we were completely broken. Chantal kept our minds in the game and was amazing at literally everything she did. She could have easily just checked on us every so often, but the fact that she stayed with us the entire time showed us that we could get through this. She went above and beyond what we expected, and we shall forever consider her part of our family.
We ended up getting a C-section after 4 days of induction and labor. Chantal stayed with us during the C-section itself, as well as in the recovery room. She never once left us. She was our guardian angel throughout the day! After the fact, she even came up to see how we were doing in the recovery wing. This type of care showed that she didn't consider us a number, but treated us like family. I can't say enough how amazing Chantal is for sitting with us, guiding our journey, and inspiring us to continue the fight. We really couldn't have done it without her. She is a tremendous person who is clearly meant to be a nurse.
