From the moment Nurse Chantel walked into my room to be my nurse, I could tell she was going to be amazing. The care she provided me has been the best care I have ever received in a hospital in my life and that is because she truly cares. I had a major kidney surgery where they removed a rib and I have been in the worst pain of my life. Because of Covid, I was not able to have any family in the hospital to be with me or advocate for me.

Being alone is hard, but not having anyone to advocate for you when you need it is harder. Chantel told me that she would do everything she could to make sure I was comfortable and cared for. Chantel was not afraid to speak up for me when I was unable to and was always making sure I received the care I deserved. Not only that, but on the days that she was not my nurse, she still popped in to make sure I received the care I needed. She also knew I was going to be alone on Valentine’s Day, so she brought me a card and made me feel special and loved.

Chantel embodies everything a nurse should be. She is kind, she is compassionate, and most importantly she truly cares about every single one of her patients. Chantel is the best nurse I have ever had, and I will always be grateful for her. I don’t think I could have survived this experience without her.
