Chantel Mcgill was looking out her clinic window and noticed a colleague from another department having difficulty transferring a patient into the vehicle. She immediately plunged into action grabbing a coworker, Terrian Haynes-Owens, RN, to go with her. They had no idea whom they were helping but knew that their colleagues and the veteran needed assistance. They attempted to transfer the patient with the extra manpower that they provided but were not successful. They immediately went back into the building and grabbed the patient lift and safely attached the patient to the equipment and transferred the patient into the vehicle. The patient was transferred safely and effectively, and all nursing staff was safe as well. This is commendable because these nurses went to help and had no idea the name of the coworker or veteran, but they understood the call and the fact that all patients are our patients!!
