Chantel is most deserving, such a remarkable young nurse, having just completed her nursing residency at SJMO this past year. She excels in every area of our unit. She knows how to scrub c/sections, cover our clerks, has anexcellent response to emergencies, and doesn't shy away from complex OB patients. She has served as a superuser for our IV pumps and voluntarily participates in our department shared governance meetings, one that is aimed at improving collegial relationships with our physicians and residents. Chantel is very engaged and even picks up extra shifts and rotates to nights to help fill in gaps with our nursing schedule.

Her colleagues and patients love her too. I'd like to share one unsolicited patient comment recently received from the intranet. "I had an amazing level of care when I delivered my son on the LD unit. Every single nurse we interreacted with during our stay was 10+ for their amount of caring, attentiveness, professionalism and great personality. I am so grateful for everyone that extended their kindness and care to us during our stay. One nurse really stood out and that was Chantel, who helped us deliver our son. It was such an unbelievably smooth delivery and recovery during the midst of covid. We are eternally grateful for our experience."
