" I’m proud to see a nurse/RN of this quality."
Day two- my very handsome and lonely man was a mess! Unshaven, uncombed, food all over him and everywhere! (11am) I went to his nurse and kindly asked if he could be showered and cleaned and her face went quiet as she apologized how a Saturday shortage. I said I understand, not now but anytime before bed. I saw her talking 10 minutes later to a staff- they looked at us. A few minutes later, that staff member was Chanton Ven. Chanton came in and attended to Patrick in such a skilled, compassionate and respectful manner and I was so impressed that this excellent, hands-on staff member was not only an RN but a supervisor. We certainly were very understanding when twice he had to leave for an emergency. When returning, he attended to Patrick in an unrushed, efficient manner. I am in a very good position to identify a Daisy Award Nominee (my first ever) as my entire career as a BC mastered prepared nurse- my passion and focus was to “support top of license quality/compassionate care of RNs”. Yes, Chanton Ven demonstrated this as an RN while doing an ADL. I’m proud to see a nurse/RN of this quality. As a past nursing supervisor of Beverly Hospital, Nurse Manager and tenured professor of nursing, nurse practitioner, retired as sole educator of nurses in Lahey primary care/BI system. I worked with Melissa Lee at Lahey! She’ll vouch for my abilities to evaluate a great nurse like Chanton!
