Chantz Myers-Dorsey, BSN, RN

Chantz is the kind of nurse every patient and family hopes for. Recently, he cared for a patient who needed to be rushed to the operating room. In that critical moment, Chantz stayed calm, acted quickly, and made sure the patient was safely transported. When the patient returned from surgery, Chantz worked tirelessly to stabilize him, showing incredible skill and focus. What truly makes Chantz stand out is his compassion during this stressful time. He didn't just care for the patient; he cared for the family.

The patient's wife had just been discharged herself after suffering a cardiac arrest. She was understandably worried and stressed, but Chantz took the time to speak with her, reassure her, and offer comfort, all while saving the patient's life. The patient's wife told me that Chantz's care for her husband was the best she'd ever seen. This kindness gave her peace of mind and helped her feel safe knowing her husband was in Chantz's hands. Chantz goes above and beyond every day. He is a true example of what nursing is all about and is absolutely deserving of the DAISY award.
