My mother's vital signs drastically improved, and she rested comfortably under the care of Chaquitta, which also lessened my anxiety greatly.
I am a nurse anesthetist (CRNA) caring for a 74-year-old mother with Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia who had a fall resulting in a compression fracture of her lower spine. My mother was in incredible pain after being transferred from Elyria Memorial Hospital for a neurosurgery consult. Upon arriving at the Cleveland Medical Center ED, there were multiple traumas ahead of her. Our ED wait was over 14 hours, and rough at the start, but once Chaquitta came on shift, she was able to provide comfort to my mother and get her settled.
Chaquitta went above and beyond to get a hospital bed, a waffle mattress, and listened to my request for specific pain management, as that is what was working for our 4-day stay prior to being transferred. My mother's vital signs drastically improved, and she rested comfortably under the care of Chaquitta, which also lessened my anxiety greatly. These are the nurses that UH administration needs to strive to keep happy!
