The wife of a patient who was severely injured and in the ICU shared about the extraordinary care provided by Chardia. Ultimately, the family made the difficult decision to withdraw care, and the patient became an organ donor.

The patient’s wife said that she bonded with the nurse during the traumatic events and tragic days that followed. She shared that every member of the care team was exceptional, compassionate, respectful, and professional, but it was Chardia who really stood out overwhelmingly. 

"She came in to check on him even on her days off. She took really great care of both of us. And then, on the donation day, she asked permission to be in the OR for me, which was also her day off. She has such a calling for this job. The compassion she had for us was simply overwhelming. She continued to check on me and my entire family. She kept me updated, and she never stopped trying to help us. For her to keep checking on a patient she knew wouldn't make it... It just speaks volumes about her heart."
