Charie spent her Christmas Eve and Christmas Day caring for patients in the surgical ICU. On Christmas Eve, she brought stockings for each patient in the SICU. Each stocking gifted them with soap, deodorant, Kleenex, and lip balm. That one act of kindness meant the world to my patient.
My patient was a young mother of five and this was her first Christmas away from her children. She was overwhelmed by the gift and started to cry when she opened it. She said she would never forget this Christmas, not because she was in the hospital, but because of the kindness she was shown by Charie.
