Charisse helped my entire family and I navigate a lot of challenging conversations and concerns, and she made our opinions feel heard and valued every step of the way.
From the first night that my mother arrived at the hospital, we were greeted with genuine care and compassion by Charisse. With her gentle voice and empathetic nature, my mother immediately felt comfortable around her. Charisse helped my entire family and I navigate a lot of challenging conversations and concerns, and she made our opinions feel heard and valued every step of the way.
Every night that Charisse would walk through the door, my mom's eyes would light up because she knew she was going to be cared for to the highest degree. This hospital stay was complicated and heartbreaking for my family, as we found out my mother's lymphoma is no longer curable. As devasted as we all were, Charisse was always there with a smile on her face (even behind the mask) and a comforting presence to get us through some challenging times. She went above and beyond every single day to make sure my mother was comfortable, cared for, and loved. As a Nurse myself, I know that it can difficult to navigate complex care situations, but Charisse was truly an exceptional Nurse. She is most deserving of The DAISY Award for her compassionate heart, advocating spirit, and overall warm/calming presence. It was very special for my mom to spend her first night and last night in the hospital with Charisse as her Nurse. We are unbelievably grateful for the care our mother received from Charisse, and she would be an outstanding pick for The DAISY Award!
