The ER received a swing bed patient from the medical floor with stroke-like symptoms. When Charla was working, she acted in a timely manner, getting information, triage, and assessing the patient.

 An order from another provider was given to do a basic workup and move the patient back to swingbed due to already being anticoagulated and age. Charla did not agree with the provider due to the patient's symptoms, but remained professional and became a true advocate for this patient. She was persistent in her request for further imaging and intervention for the patient.

This particular provider relented, the patient had a serious medical condition, and was air lifted to another facility in a timely manner, thanks to Charla being a patient advocate. She is very deserving of this DAISY Award.
