August 2025 Honoree
Charlene Atherley, BSN, RN
Charlie has gone above and beyond to not only help me, but also every one of her patients. It’s easy to tell (for me) when people at work are being overwhelmed on their job or people who just have bad people skills, bedside manner, but Charlie didn’t give off any of those vibes at all.
When I first arrived in the ER, I was not very happy at all and was really thinking about not living anymore, but after spending just a few minutes with Charlie, she changed my whole outlook. She really made me feel good. It takes a lot for me to change my mind like that. I have cancer, and a lot of people forget about me, and nurses are just going through motions, but not Charlie.
Thank you, Charlie, for saving my life.
