Charlene went beyond the parameters of the hospital walls. This past Chritmas, she rented out a church hall in Matthews, NC and invited all of her patients and their families, doctors, and co-workers for a Christmas celebration. One of her long time patients played the piano. Also, when one of Charlene's chemotherapy patients had surgery, Charlene came in on her day off to provide support, comfort and prayers and stayed with the family members during the entire surgery. Charlene is fun to be around, most alway with a "chuckle" and smile. she is very flexible with her schedule helping out in ED and in a nursing supervisor role. I feel all of her patients and co-workers would agree that she is very deserving of this honor!
