When I grow up, I want to be like Charlene Miranda Wood, a nurse leader who creates an environment where attributes of trust, compassion, mutual respect, continued professional development, and ethical behavior are modeled and supported.

Charlene is a nurse leader that you can trust to provide you with great feedback when you need it, help when you are in crisis, offer a listening ear for emotional support, and consistently share her resources for others to achieve their goals. These attributes I experienced and observed from Charlene for over 14 years now consistently. Charlene's name starts with a letter C that stands for compassion. She advocates for her team that reports to her, she cries with you whether it's for a bad situation or for tears of joy. I am forever thankful to be preceptored and mentored by Charlene. I am who I am now because of all her support, and continued guidance as I navigate my career in nursing leadership with a specialty in perinatal education.
