During my recent hospital stay, I had a great pleasure of meeting Charlene. Not only was it a very painful time with my bowel obstruction problem but I was under extreme stress in my personal life due to difficult situations my daughter was going through. While trying my hardest to help raise my 5-year-old granddaughter, while in tears during my admittance into my hospital room at 3 am in the morning, I looked up to see the most compassionate, smiling, caring face, my nurse, Charlene. I'm sure she sensed my inner despair and immediately knew how to calm my fears, encourage me that everything was going to be just fine, and immediately settled me in bed. She calmly checked my vitals and so competently explained everything that as happening in a reassuring way. Before I knew it, I was laughing and feeling much better. I was so impressed with her skills in the way she handled the training of another nurse. Charlene was not only extremely patient as she explained in detail how to complete the tasks correctly, but I was amazed at the generosity of spirit she displayed, so careful to help this young lady learn the proper techniques but stating things in a very respectful, caring way. Professional yet down to earth in helping me with every aspect of my care, with so much attention to detail. She is a true angle of Mercy, I will never forget the quintessential caring nurse.
