Yesterday I went to speak to Charlene at lunch. She was on the phone, I heard her say "why don't I just run by on the way home and look so I can tell you exactly what you need".
Later I joked with Charlene, was she making house calls?
She said: Oh this is an older woman with an Ostomy I've stayed in touch with since hospitalization... now her husband has a foley and they are needing to know what supplies they need for a leg bag. I don't want to advise over the phone and have them get the wrong thing so I'll just run by their house on the way home". The causal way she shared this made me realize this probably is not a rare occurrence for Charlene. She shares her incredible expertise throughout the building and community building bridges of trust with Eastside by providing excellent continuity of care.
