I was having some chest discomfort and since I already had 3 stents previously placed, I felt the need to go to the ER. I was transferred to the ICU where one nurse really stood out. Chuck Bay went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable right from the beginning. Chuck treated me like family; like I was a brother. He was thoughtful and helpful and anything I needed he was sure to provide.
Chuck would listen to what the doctors were telling me and then he would make sure I understood and would answer any questions. Chuck explained why I was taking certain medications and what I could expect next. I feel this special nurse deserves to be recognized for the competent, compassionate care and professionalism he exhibited.
Chuck even introduced the next shift nurse to me and informed them in front of me about my care and what was going to happen. I really appreciate everything he did for me. The stay was made less scary and I felt cared about.
