August 2020 Honoree
Charles Cain, RN
I was sitting in the living room alongside a patient at the BHS unit. There were a group of patients discussing their feelings about being there. One had said that "Charlie" is what made their stay bearable. He shared he had been in and out of hospitals and never felt the compassion that Charlie shows and it helped him to not be embarrassed about being where he was. His exact words were "I'm not sure Charlie knows the difference he makes in people's lives." When he said that the others in the room agreed and were very vocal about their appreciation for Charlie.
Thank you, Charles, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
