I nominate Charles Evans from 6S step down unit at Wilmington Hospital. I was close to death with my ilieus. I was very confused but I remember he had a very caring nature and was very encouraging for me even in my confused state. He detected the ileus and pushed to have an xray completed of my abdomen. He even placed the easiest NG tube I have had and helped my bowel decompress. He truly saved my life. My surgeon said one more hour and I would not be here today. I nominate Charles because he saved my life! Without his excellent assessment and ability to critically think I would not be here today. He is truly a caring and exceptional nurse and deserves recognition.
