Charles (Charlie) Hall is an exceptional student and a great caretaker. I have worked with him the past 16 weeks in clinicals and everyday he has gone above and beyond for every patient on the unit. He always races to answer call lights and constantly asks every staff member from every department if there is anything he can do for them. There are many reasons and examples of his care that qualifies him for this award.  Charlie jumps at every opportunity to learn new skills and help whenever needed.
There were a few times during our clinical experience when we had to deal with a difficult or uncooperative patient and Charlie was the one to calm them all. His therapeutic communication skills and patience is impressive. He always sits with the patients until they are calm and he educates them about their care. He was able to convince a patient who would not cooperate with their medication regimen and Charlie took his time talking to the patient and building rapport. The patient was then compliant with the rest of his care.  Charlie Hall is an exceptional nursing student and will be a great nurse. I believe that his hard work, care for others, and willingness to help deserves recognition.
Charlie is the best when we are at our clinical site. He doesn't like to sit down. He answers call lights, sits and talk to patients and their family members and is a team player. He always makes sure we are all ok and caught up on our work. He is eager to learn and jumps at any opportunity to learn something new!
